George Daugherty Scholarship

In honor of one of our founding community members, George Daugherty, WVU Collegiate Recovery will award a student with $500 scholarship at our Graduation Celebration in May. Interested students are strongly encouraged to get involved with Collegiate Recovery and our student organization Mountaineers for Recovery. Active engagement and service in our recovery community is the most significant consideration for this scholarship. *2025 recipients will be announced at our Graduation Celebration on 5/15 (11am).

Cathy Yura Scholarship

In honor of Cathy Yura’s 40 plus years of service at WVU, WVU Collegiate Recovery and West Virginia Sober Living have awarded 8 students in recovery with $1,000 scholarships since 2020. Interested students are strongly encouraged to get involved with Collegiate Recovery and our student organization Mountaineers for Recovery. marissa mangione service award

Honoring students who go above and beyond in their efforts to support students in recovery.

Each semester WVU Collegiate Recovery chooses one student to be recognized for their contributions to the recovery community. Named after former student, Marissa Mangione, this award goes to a student who has made significant contributions through service for students in recovery. Past recipients: Preston Quigley (Fall 2024), Sadie Holland (Spring 2024), Marissa Mangione (Fall 2023).

Hall yura award

To honor the hard work and perseverance of students in recovery.

Each year WVU Collegiate Recovery selects a student in recovery to receive the Hall Yura Award. This award serves to recognize the hard work and perseverance required for a student in recovery. Past recipients: Jon Hamrick (2024), Preston Quigley (2023), Katie Merrill (2022).
